Fan Poll: If You Could Fire One Current NHL Head Coach...

As fans and spectators of the great sport of hockey, we are always ready to rattle off a quick list of our least favorite, most detested NHL players. From generation to generation, there have always been bona fide villains and there always will be. Names like Domi, Avery, Samuelsson and Cooke are undoubtedly bound to come up in any conversation with those who have grown up in the same era of hockey as I have.

However, there is another contingent of individuals, ones who rarely set foot on the ice, who also tend to leave a bad taste in our mouth. Before you begin naming off every backup to Henrik Lundqvist, Roberto Luongo or Martin Brodeur throughout the last decade, know that I'm alluding to the men we refer to as the bench bosses of hockey.

NHL Head Coaches influence our opinion of them in a number of ways. Quite simply, there are a heap of reasons one might downright loathe another team's coach or maybe even their own. There are coaches prone to throwing their own players under the bus (Tortorella). There are coaches who refuse to ever stray from a set strategy (Jacques Lemaire would come in handy here), even if said strategy puts the entire viewing audience to sleep. And there are ones who cry foul so often that the world should genuinely fear a global tissue-shortage crisis (I'm looking at you, Lindy).

So here is your (entirely fictional) opportunity of a lifetime. If you had the almighty power to can one current NHL Head Coach, for whatever reason you deem necessary, who would it be?

There are a number of fresh faces stepping behind the bench for the very first time this year, so I feel it'd be wrong to put them on the chopping block so soon (apologies to any Rangers' fan still holding a grudge against Tom Renney). I came up with a pretty formidable list of choices, but feel free to vote "other" if you really must.

It's axing time, make Vince McMahon proud (POLL BELOW VIDEO)!
