While it has felt like a month since the Hawks last took the ice, they are back in action tonight as they travel to Tampa to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Hawks are coming off a 4-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils, which saw the team hold a player-only meeting for 20 minutes after that game. It will be interesting to see how this team responds after the loss. It has been an interesting few games of highs and lows, which I love because it gives these young players a great chance to learn and have to adjust their game accordingly. They will have a little bit more to play for as it is the annual mom trip for the two games in Florida. The Hawks always do these parent trips right, and it seems to get the boys going as they post a 5-3-2 record on the moms trip. Whatever it takes to get the guys relaxed and having a good time on the ice is fine with me. An extra cool note on this is that this will be the first time Taylor Raddysh will go head-to-head against his brother Darren, and the fact their mom gets to be in the building for that is even cooler. It will be interesting to see how mom handles the jersey situation for this one.
Projected Line Up
#Blackhawks lines and pairings: Foligno-Bedard-Kurashev Reichel-Athanasiou-Raddysh Hall-Dickinson-T. Johnson Donato-Entwistle-Perry Katchouk-R. Johnson-Blackwell
The only change in this line-up is that Tinordi draws back into the line-up, replacing Zaitsev. Also, it looks like Petr Mrazek will get the nod in the net; he has a 3-3 record and sports a 2.81 GAA and a.923 SV%. I know I have a broken record, but I can't get over how great our goaltending tandem has performed this season. I almost wonder if Mrazek could be an option to help the Oilers figure their season out.
That’s going to be it for me. As always, Let's Go Blackhawks.
