Back with a full rumor chart update...however.....

The Devils have traded Damon Severson, after signing to an 8-year deal. The Columbus Blue Jackets have added another key piece to an ever-growing, strong defense. The bigger picture here for New Jersey is this gives them the ability sign Timo Meier and Jasper Bratt.

I have been talking to the sources and I have been sensing a big new trend this summer. Following in the pattern of Matthew Tkachuk, players are going to their GMs and informing them that they plan to move on in the future. This is very new for hockey, but not uncommon in other sports as you all know. In my next blog I will be focusing on players that I believe have, or soon could, be heading in this direction.

So stay tuned.. I also want to take a moment to congratulate my great son who is graduating high school today. As many of you know he has been faced with some severe health issues, so this is extra special and emotional for all of us!
