Despite the season they are having — full of inconsistent and downright frustrating play — the Panthers still find the playoffs in their sights.
While they will need help from other teams, they can start helping themselves tonight by beating the Montreal Canadiens.
Florida has had four days of rest and should be feeling good knowing their lineup is intact and healthy heading into tonight:
Despite sitting 27th in the league standings, MTL is one of those teams that the Cats shouldn’t take them lightly. Fueled by a nucleus of young talent learning the game from the great Martin St. Louis, the Habs can catch teams by surprise if they don’t bring their full effort.
Per
Litterbox Cats:
“
Florida is currently five points back of the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Islanders, holding three games in hand on the Islanders.“
Given they have a shot at the postseason, Bob has been a workhorse in net for Florida — playing solid hockey and giving the Cats a chance each nigh (even if the guys in front of him don’t return the favor).
With that in mind, I really like this move by Florida. Let Lyon see some action and stay sharp incase they need him to go.
In random news…did you guys see former-goalie prospect Devon Levi is in the mix for the Hobey Baker Award?
