I talked to three sources regarding this over the last two days....

The Devils and Islanders are in a bidding war of sorts for San Jose's Timo Meier.

According to my sources, the Devils have gotten further along with quite an impressive offer....Sources tell me the Devils offer involves Holtz, Blackwood and a First Round Pick. The Devils would likely get James Reimer in the deal as well...

The Isles offer is less clear, but would almost certainly include a first rounder, a prospect and Wahlstrom....

Wherever Meier is moved it sounds like this deal is going to be one of the first of this year's deadline....One source said that talks have been on going for quite a while now...
