The Buffalo Sabres finished the first half of their season today, and in the process, they completed half of their year at exactly real .500 with a 21-19-2 record. That’s an 88-point pace for those keeping track of the playoff race, and while that point percentage will not put them in the post-season dance, it would be the highest amount of points since Lindy Ruff helmed the team to a 39-32-11 record back in 2011-2012. It’s a positive step in the right direction.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the team and individual player stats, starting with prospects not currently playing at the NHL level.

Sabres Prospect Report:

Josh Bloom – LW – 2021 3rd round (OHL) – 46 points in 42 games

Viljami Marjala – LW – 2021 5th round (TPS U20) – 43 points in 25 games, 2 points in 5 games (I-U20)

Matt Savoie – C – 2022 1st round pick (WHL) – 45 points in 32 games

Jake Richard – RW – 2022 6th round pick (USHL) – 30 points in 25 games

Gustav Karlsson – RW – 6th round (SHL) – 1 point in 8 games

Vasili Glotov – C – 2016 7th round (KHL) – 23 points in 48 games

Viktor Neuchev – LW – 2022 3rd round (KHL) – 11 points in 47 games

Olivier Nadeau – RW/C – 2021 4th round (QMJHL) – 11 points in 9 games. Quick note here on Nadeau – he looked like a bit of a rising sleeper prospect following his 2021 season in which he scored 78 points in 65 games, but this season was derailed due to a shoulder injury, and he has only recently returned.

Matteo Costantini – C – 2020 5th round (NCAA) – 2 points in 16 games

Prokhor Poltapov – RW – 2022 2nd round (KHL) – 7 points in 45 games. Another quick note – Poltapov has 35 PIMS this season. Is he a tough guy or is he taking a ton of bad penalties? No idea.

Devon Levi – G – 2020 7th round (NCAA) – 920 SV%, 2.55 GAA

Ryan Johnson - D - 2019 1st round (NCAA) - 10 points in 24 games, +9
