The New Jersey Devils took care of business in Detroit by beating the Red Wings 5-1. The road warriors have been on a tear away from the Prudential Center and raised their road record to 14-2-1.
The Devils got balanced scoring from Dougie Hamilton, Jack Hughes, Alexander Holtz, Nico Hischier, and Michael McLeod.
Are the Devils about to go on another winning streak? They had been playing well against top tier teams like when they played the Boston Bruins, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Carolina Hurricanes. The Devils have earned five out of the last six points in the past three games.
Tonight they take on the St. Louis Blues at the Rock. Vladimir Tarasenko and Ryan O’Reilly will be out and the Blues currently sport a 18-17-3 record. The Devils should continue to score goals tonight as the Blues have team GAA of 3.66 (27th in the NHL).
Thoughts and Musings
1. Last night was nearly a complete game for New Jersey. The Devils have played top tier upper echelon teams in the past two weeks. Moreover, they beat a team that they should have beaten.
2. Jack Hughes could be the first New Jersey Devil to top over 100 total points in a regular season. He has been on fire recently and has been the Devils most consistent scorer.
3. Sad to see Team USA out of the World Juniors. What are your thoughts on the officiating?
