Finally...

The Bruins announced Monday captain Patrice Bergeron has signed a one-year contract worth $2.5 million. The contract includes the ability to receive an additional $2.5 million in performance based incentives.

With no real plan at center behind him, bringing Bergeron back was a must. The Bruins captain is recovering from off-season surgery, but there's been no indication to date he's expected to miss any time to start the season.

With Brad Marchand already sidelined for at least a month, losing Bergeron to start the season would be a tough punch to take.

Bergeron will meet with the media later this afternoon.

The band is back together and just like that, the Bruins situation at at center looks much more promising than it did when we woke up this morning.

David Krejci has signed a one-year contract worth $1 million. Similar to Bergeron, the contract includes the ability to receive an additional $2 million in performance based incentives.

Krejci will meet with the media Tuesday afternoon.
