The New York Islanders announced yesterday that they’ve hired John MacLean as an assistant coach.

MacLean has been an assistant coach in the NHL for the majority of the last two decades. He spent this past season with the San Jose Sharks and has also been an assistant coach with the Arizona Coyotes and New Jersey Devils.

It was also announced that Brian Wiseman will not be joining the coaching staff, after he was originally announced as an assistant coach for the Islanders earlier in the month.
