The Rangers are back at MSG tonight to face the Maple Leafs. New York begins a stretch of six games in eight contests in front of the hometown fans after spending a good portion of the first 39 matchups (27 times) on the road. The upcoming schedule is not easy as the Blueshirts will take on the Maple Leafs, Hurricanes, Kings, Wild and Panthers prior to what was to be the Olympics break. An updated schedule to make up the 95 games that had to be rescheduled was released today, with the Rangers modifications below.

The three postponed games were rescheduled while one game in April was moved. New York faces Boston on Feb 15 (moved up from April 24), Detroit on Feb. 17, Ottawa on Feb. 20 and Montreal on April 27. With the changes, the Rangers will be off from Feb 3 to February 15, though they will likely practice for a few days prior to the game against the Bruins. In addition, New York now plays three games - all at home - in four days to end the season versus Carolina, Montreal and Washington,

Alexis Lafreniere is off the COVID list, resulting in Morgan Barron landing back on the taxi squad. We can rail all we want as to why Libor Hajek is on the team, why Greg McKegg is in the lineup, why Barron is benched, but the quote below says it all. Coach Gerard Gallant is loyal to his team, which is admirable, but that should be tempered by adjusting to situations and how others have played balanced by who deserves to be in the lineup.

Lineup:

Kreider-Zibanejad-Kakko
Panarin-Strome-Chytil
Lafreniere-Goodrow-Gauthier
Hunt-Rooney-Reaves

Lindgren-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Nemeth-Schneider

Shesterkin

Lafreniere and Barclay Goodrow are both back in the lineup after clearing protocol, same with Dryden Hunt, off injured list, making the Rangers fully healthy for the first time in a while.
