The Winnipeg Jets practice has begun and there are many familiar faces back on the ice. Returning to the ice today from the NHL's COVID-19 protocol, are Nathan Beaulieu, Ville Heinola, Kris Reichel, Nikolaj Ehlers and Logan Stanley.

C.J Suess and Evgeny Svechnikov are not on the ice, and Logan Stanley and Nathan Beaulieu are skating on the fourth line Dom Toninato. This would lead me to believe that they will be healthy scratches against the Washington Capitals, meaning that Samberg and Chisholm will be in the lineup yet again, with Heinola currently lining up as the 7th defenseman. The Jets are very familiar with running 11F and 7D, so with the absences on the forward group, I wouldn't be surprised if their line rushes stay the same from practice today with Stanley and Beaulieu being scratched.

01/15/22 Line Rushes:

Copp-Scheifele-Ehlers
Connor-Dubois-Perfetti
Vesalainen-Lowry-Reichel
Stanley-Toninato-Beaulieu

Morrissey-DeMelo
Samberg-Pionk
Chisholm-Schmidt
Heinola

The current lineup, besides the question marks on the fourth line, should get Jets fans happy. The defensive pairings in perticular are set up very well. I will be looking forward to watching Samberg and Pionk together, and Chisholm and Schmidt will complimant each other well. DeMelo on the top pairing with Morrissey is something I have been waiting for all season, as DeMelo is such a strong defensive defender. The ability to play anywhere on the pairings, and excel, makes him so valuable to the team. With the right chemistry, I could see DeMelo staying on the top pair.

The Connor-Dubois-Ehlers line will be extremely exciting to watch for what I would guess is the majority of the rest of the season. Connor and Dubois have been incredible for the Jets, and having Perfetti on that line will certainly be a great place to get reps in and get a great understanding on the pace of the NHL games. All three are fairly defensively responsible forwards, with Connor and Dubois taking big leaps this season, but it is the offensive abilities they all have that could mesh very well together.

What would you like to see changed about the lines ahead of Tuesdays game?

Thank you for reading, let me know your thoughts in the comment section, and I hope you all have a great day!
