More and more rumors starting to heat up…especially in Philly.
The Flyers are heading out West this weekend to play Vegas and Arizona before returning home next week. I am told the Flyers future head coaching position may depend a lot on the next few days as the feeling I am getting is that the Flyers will be looking hard at candidates in the next few days.
There’s been a lot of talk of Fleury and Price, but for teams looking at a competent backup or even a 1A there is Joonas Korpisalo…. Joonas wont be cheap as Columbus knows what they have in him. They have a serious player who could backup and possibly start for a team.
There is some reason for Columbus to push to make this deal sooner than later as the belief is the Dallas Stars are going to be looking to move a goalie soon as well and that could drive the price down a bit on Korpisalo.
Two teams with interest in Korpisalo are Colorado and Philly. Both are in need of a solid backup plan and either could move as “soon as this weekend.” Per a source…
A Hockey team in Quebec?
With all the upheaval in Arizona you may be wondering why Quebec is so very quiet. We know the Quebec group has the desire, built the building, and has past promises from the NHL that a franchise would be considered strongly in the near future.
If there is one thing I have learned over my years dealing with the NHL and its owners it is that cities and groups who are getting close to what they want and want the NHL to allow it to happen get EXTREMELY quiet. The fact that Quebec has remained so quiet during this Coyotes’ craziness is very telling.
They know something and the NHL has told them to keep it on the down low.. I am not saying that Quebec is getting the Coyotes, but I do believe they are getting a team from somewhere…There is always talk that Florida or Ottawa are possibilities and perhaps the silence from Quebec means they know what the plan is already…
