Island Hopping

Isn't that a proverbial kick in the teeth.

The Blackhawks fell short on Manhattan Island as the trio of Artemi Panarin, Ryan Strome, and Adam Fox provided all of the offensive firepower (3 goals, 5 assists combined) to boost the surging Rangers to a 3-2 victory.

There was Showtime on Broadway as Patrick Kane racked up a goal and an assist but that wasn't enough for Chicago. Also, Seth and Caleb Jones paired up as D partners for the first time in their careers with father Popeye in the stands.

* Despite scoring for the first time in 15 games in his last outing, Dominik Kubalik got snakebitten again as he rang the puck off the post at least once and had a near miss.

Roster Updates

Mitchell was not only recalled but was actually required to suit up immediately as Jake McCabe suddenly had to fly back to Chicago to be with family and Riley Stillman was still unable to play. It's likely that McCabe will just remain in Chicago until the team returns home.

Next Game @ Islanders

The Blackhawks hop over to Long Island for a match this evening versus the Islanders. If Stillman is 100% healthy, expect him to slot in for Mitchell or Wyatt Kalynuk. Likewise, if Jujhar Khaira is no longer ill, expect him to return to the lineup over Reese Johnson or Mike Hardman.
