New Jersey Devils head coach Lindy Ruff mentioned that forward Jack Hughes is “closer every day”. He has been seen on social media wearing the regular practice jersey with contact and no restrictions.

Hughes has been out since October 19 after sustaining a shoulder injury during a game with the Seattle Kraken. He has played only four periods of hockey thus far this season. The Devils are 7-6-4 without Hughes in the lineup.

Will Hughes play tonight against the San Jose Sharks? We shall wait….

UPDATE: Hughes will play tonight
