Under interim head coach Derek King, the Blackhawks have now mounted a 3-game winning streak after disposing of the Coyotes 2-1 to end the homestand. Road tests are coming up against the expansion Kraken and the teams of Western Canada.

Top players Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Alex DeBrincat, Seth Jones, and Marc-Andre Fleury are ramping up more and more to lead the charge. Dylan Strome finally notched his first goal of the season despite a shade under 9 minutes of TOI.

Thoughts & Notes

* In 4 of the past 6 games, Fleury's save percentage has been stellar at .957 last night as well as .955 in his previous outing plus .967 and .973 at the turn of the month.

* Ice time for the blueliners wasn't as lopsided in this game with the Big 3 in Jones, Connor Murphy, and Jake McCabe getting 21-25 minutes apiece while Calvin de Haan, Erik Gustafsson, and Riley Stillman found themselves in the 12-16 minute range.

* Kirby Dach and Dominik Kubalik can't seem to buy a goal this season and need to start converting on their chances in order to pull their weight more on offense.

* Reese Johnson racked up 11 hits in a little over 12 minutes of ice time.

SOG For/Against: 19/34

Thoughts & Notes

* The IceHogs had a horribly consistent inability to sustain any offensive pressure as they only managed a single shot on goal in the 1st period, 8 after the 2nd, and finally reached double digits by 7 minutes into the 3rd.

* The Hogs generally did a good job of keeping a defenseman parked in the crease to protect the net but a problem has been giving up inside positioning and screening their own goalie.

* Alec Regula made his season debut and was steady being neither a standout nor a liability.

* Wyatt Kalynuk was so-so in the 1st but settled down and played fairly well defensively by maintaining tighter gaps, wielding an active stick, and neutralizing plays.
