Grimaldi On Waivers

Preds have placed forward Rocco Grimaldi on waivers this morning. He's been in and out of the lineup so this is a surprise while also not a surprise.

Hopefully he is able to clear as he is a fan favorite and a player I enjoy watching who always give it his all. But I would not be surprised to see him claimed. His cap hit at $2M could keep him protected though. We shall see.

Preds Continue Road trip Strong

The Preds had a very strong showing in Dallas last night although they tried to lose it there late. And who else would you suspect to be leading the way other than Jeannot and Duchene with Johansen stepping it up as well. It seems like every time something good is mentioned about the Preds this season, 84 and 95 are involved. This is great to see. In addition, putting Johansen with two young guns in Tomasino and Jeannot seemed to really light a fire in him. His intermission interview showed he is really excited to play with these guys. Looks like they are actually enjoying the game again and not feeling the pressure as much. Hopefully this can continue.

The chemistry between Jeannot and Johansen was evident on the first goal last night. It's nice to see the lineups being mixed up to see different connections that may be made. This is more due to injuries, but the results have been promising so far.

Carrier was injured last night after being hit from a shot by Seguin. There's no clear guidance on his recovery. I do not anticipate him being in the lineup tonight, but this opens the door for other players to step up. I am glad to see Myers back in the lineup, but he has some work to do in order to establish himself as a consistent player. However, this is undoubtedly tough when you are taken in and out of the lineup.

The Preds are in St. Louis tonight to conclude their six-game slate on the road. To say I am pleasantly surprised that after 5 games they are 3-1-1 claiming 7 out of a possible 10 points would be quite the understatement. Usually these trips put a dent in the Preds, but it is great to see the team coming together and finding a way to achieve results. Dropping the game in Chicago was not ideal, but at least a point was claimed. Let's hope for at least a point tonight against another division rival.
