Who is ready for Penguins hockey this year? I can't hear you. WHO IS READY FOR PENGUINS HOCKEY THIS YEAR?!???

Yeah, me neither. I can't think of heading into another season I've had more apathy about than this one, perhaps the 2003-04 season but everybody knew the deal with that. The latest news driving the apathy home is that the Penguins could potentially be without Jake Guentzel on opening night. He has COVID

Jake Guentzel tested positive for COVID-19. He's vaccinated, so this is a breakthrough case.

Jake Guentzel can play in opener at Tampa provided he does not fail tests twice moving forward.

This sure has been some kind of offseason. Has anything that has happened actually made the team better? It's been a rough go.

Guentzel is vaccinated so his symptoms, if he has any at all, *should* be minimal.

We'll get a good understanding of what the COVID protocols actually are as we all monitor the Guentzel situation leading into opening night against the two-time defending champs.
