The Carolina Hurricanes have made multiple signings to open free agency, as well as a trade.

In order to improve the team's situation in net, the Hurricanes signed goaltender Frederik Andersen to a two-year contract, which carries a $4.5 million AAV. Andersen is 31 years old and had an .895 save percentage in 24 games this season.

The team also signed Antti Raanta to a two-year contract, which carries a $2 million AAV. He’s 32 years old and posted a .905 save percentage in 12 games with Arizona last year, but does have a .919 save percentage in 196 career NHL games.

Additionally, the team has re-signed forward Jordan Martinook to a three-year contract, which carries a $1.8 million AAV. Martinook is 29 years old and scored four goals and 13 points in 44 games this season.

Carolina also made a notable trade, acquiring defenseman Ethan Bear from the Edmonton Oilers, in exchange for forward Warren Foegele.

Bear is 24 years old and scored two goals and eight points in 43 games this season. He has one year remaining on his contract, which carries a $2 million AAV. Foegele is currently a restricted free agent and scored 10 goals and 20 points in 53 games this season.

Leaving the Hurricanes will be goaltender Petr Mrazek, who signed a three-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs, worth $3.8 million per year. Mrazek spent the last three seasons with Carolina.
