Some minor Blues news to touch on this afternoon.
First, St. Louis announced that they signed forward Nathan Walker to a two-year contract extension. The agreement is a two-way deal worth $750K a year in the NHL. If Walker plays in the AHL, he will receive $300K in year one and $310K in year two.
The former Capitals third-round pick played eight games for the Blues last season, scoring one goal and averaging 13:30 of ice-time. Additionally, Walker played four games for the AHL's Utica Comets, recording two goals. Through four seasons with three different teams, Walker has played 25 NHL games, scoring three goals and two assists.
Obviously, re-signing Walker is simply an organizational depth move.
In other news, St. Louis announced that the franchise tendered qualifying offers to all six of its restricted free agents. The list of tendered RFA's includes newly acquired Pavel Buchnevich, promising young forwards Jordan Kyrou and Robert Thomas, as well as Ivan Barbashev, Dakota Joshua, and Zach Sanford.
Of those six players, all but Kyrou and Thomas are arbitration-eligible.
