No Third Period Comeback in Game 7

Game 7 did not play out the way the Wild or their fans wanted it to as the second period proved to be their undoing.

The middle frame has been a concern for the Wild through much of the season and Vegas had exploited that throughout the series. The Golden Knights were able to capitalize on their opportunities last night to the tune of three goals. They turned the game in their favor taking a 4-2 lead into the third period.

That proved to be enough as the Wild could not muster another third period comeback, which had become a staple of their success this season. In the end Vegas tacked on an insurance market when Mattias Janmark scored his second of the game with just over 7 minutes to play. He would then complete his hattrick into the empty to deliver the final blow to the Wild season.

It may have been a good season for the Wild as they exceeded most expectations and did take Vegas to seven games. However that is talk for another day. Today they left some unfinished business on the ice last night and that stings regardless.
