The Anaheim Ducks saw their season come to a close after playing four games this week. Here’s a recap of news and notes from the week.

DUCKS WIN ONE OF FOUR GAMES TO END SEASON

The Ducks won one of four games this week, splitting a series with the St. Louis Blues, before dropping back-to-back games to the Minnesota Wild, both by a score of 4-3 in overtime. The Ducks finish the year at the bottom of the West Division, with a record of 17-30-9.

MILLER PLAYS FINAL NHL GAME

Goaltender Ryan Miller played his final NHL game on Saturday against the Wild. Miller retires as the winningest American-born goalie in league history, with 391 wins and 796 games played.

ZEGRAS FINISHES YEAR ON A ROLL

Trevor Zegras was on fire since being recalled by the Ducks. In seven games since rejoining the team, Zegras had two goals and six points, which was more points than anyone on the team during that stretch.

As for our poll questions this week, here are the results, along with my thoughts on how they turned out:

QUESTION: Which rookie have you been more impressed by this season?

(Votes: 109)

Jamie Drysdale: 54%
Trevor Zegras: 46%

Both Drysdale and Zegras have transitioned very well to the NHL so far. Based on being a defender, which arguably makes for a more difficult adjustment, I’m tempted to say Drysdale for this but Zegras was excellent after being called up for his second stint with the Ducks.

QUESTION: Do you think Lukas Dostal will take over as Anaheim's starting goalie at some point in the next few years?

(Votes: 89)

Yes: 65%
No: 35%

It’s always hard to project a goalie’s potential but all signs point to Lukas Dostal becoming an NHL starter. He had success in Finland, has had a strong year in the AHL and while he may still be a couple years away, Dostal could certainly take over as Anaheim’s starter down the road.
