***UPDATE***
Nico Daws, 84th overall pick In the 2020 draft, has signed a 3 year entry level deal. After finishing his season in the German league, the young goalie is making his way to North America.
Daws played for the Canadian Gold Medal Team in the World Juniors. He has dual citizenship Canadian/German.
The Devils became only the 3rd team to come back from behind and beat the Bruins after they have lead in the 3rd period. Impressive, yes.
The Bruins didn't take the pedal off the metal and take it easy on the Devils, they wanted the W and that could be seen in Halak's reaction after Zacha's game winning goal. Halak's reaction didn't end in the net, his reaction was seen as he kicked and hit anything in front of him heading into the locker room.
Congrats to Zacha setting career highs with goals (15) and points (33) on this team. Zacha has excelled and is playing like the Devils expected when they drafted him. Could he be the most improved player? Yes.
It was nice to see post game presser and players talking. Hughes, in particular, is as real as it comes. He says what he says without masking his words and caring about the fans stood out. Fans need to be excited because we have a very interesting group of players on this team. And he is right!
Ruff said it best;
"One thing that's been evident all year long is that we battle back, we battle hard."
Yes, all season we have always played very well in the 3rd periods when trailing. We would have a much better record if the Devils only played third periods! Another work in progress with a young team is playing a 60 minute game.
Ironically we are 5-1-2 versus the Bruins this year.
As the season winds down, what is next? This will be a very interesting summer and we will have a lot to talk about. For now, lets see these kids finish the home stretch.
