We got a lot of hockey today with 11 games spread throughout the day on this Saturday! Oilers/Jets should be a great game with 2nd place on the line in the North Division. Edmonton has been off for a week now while Winnipeg returns from a 5 game roadie. Preds/Canes and Florida/TB have the top 4 teams going head to head in the Central Division.
Plenty of other teams need wins badly as they continue to fight for their playoff lives. Montreal, Chicago, Dallas, St. Louis, NYR, Arizona and Philadelphia to name a few! I find lately afternoon games tend to go under the total, especially ones that are in the early afternoon!
**I have started to research teams that come off at least a 5 game road trip and how they fare in their first game back home.** Its 9-7 to date. Play Edmonton and St. Louis tonight!
Scenario #1 – Teams that are rested, either sitting at home or on the road while their opponent plays the night before. 19-9 over the last month of tracking it! The under is 16-11-1 in these spots. Ottawa fits the system tonight.
Scenario #2 – Teams that are playing each other in back to back games, in which the home team loses the first game, the record of the home team in the second game is 74-49.
Scenario #3 – Teams playing back to back road games on consecutive nights tend to go under the total in the 2nd game. So far that trend is 34-24-2 when teams play on the road back to back nights. NYI/Boston fit the system tonight. SJ/Minny fit the system tonight.
Scenario #4 - One last angle I am tracking that is slightly profitable and similar to Scenario #1, is when any team loses the first game of a back to back against the same team, regardless if it’s on the road or at home, those teams are 95-69 in that situation.

Caps/Flyers – 12:30PM - Caps lost to Buffalo last game, while the Flyers are fighting for their playoff lives. Caps last 5 games have gone over the total. Caps have won 4 of 5 head to head with 4 of 5 going over the total this season.
Pens/Sabres – 3PM – Pens have won all 4 meetings this year but Buffalo is 5-5 in their last 10 games and have played much better.
Sens/Habs – Play Scenario #1. Both teams are struggling lately in the win column. Ottawa has won 4 of 7 head to head this season with 5 of 7 going under the total! Ottawa has won 2 of 3 in Montreal too.
Blues/Yotes – 6PM – AZ returning from a 9 game roadie! Yotes have lost 5 straight too. AZ has won 4 of 7 head to head with 3 of those in STL.
Oilers/Jets – Winnipeg returns from a 5 game roadie. Oilers have been off for a week with their last 7 games going under the total! Oilers have won 4 of 6 head to head this season.
Preds/Canes – Carolina has won all 5 meetings this year!
Florida/TB – Panthers have lost 4 of their last 5 games while TB has won 3 of their last 4. TB has won 3 of 5 head to head and 4 of 5 have gone over the total.
Hawks/Wings – Detroit has won 3 in a row and play much better at home. Chicago has won 5 of 7 head to head this season, looking to rebound from a poor effort 2 nights ago.
Sharks/Wild – Play Scenario #3. Teams have split the 6 meetings head to head this season.
Jackets/Stars – Columbus has lost 4 in a row, 2-8 in their last 10, they are depleted! Stars have won 4 of 7 head to head, the 3 losses were all one goal losses!
