All the buzz today will be on the trade deadline and players are uneasy for certain. We as fans of the game want our teams to make the moves that will make them better either for today or the long run or possibly even both.

However there are people involved and families that get uprooted in the process. This is not a fantasy game, these are real people who get dealt sometimes to greener pastures and others to a place that ultimately spells the end of the line.

That said the Wild appear to be set to compete with the roster that they have, which is not all that bad. That does not mean that Bill Guerin is not hard at work and he will be right up until the deadline this afternoon to see what he can do to make his roster better.

Chemistry as well as thw salary cap come into play for every team, but the ones that really focus on what the underlying consequences of bringing in a new player and what that does to the room that has been fighting together to get to where the team is to this point. Changing current players roles and altering the vibe off the ice is as important as production on the ice because they are directly related.

The lone between winning and losing is very thin and chemistry is a huge deciding factor in pushing teams over the top. Guerin knows he does not want to upset the Wild's team first atmosphere that has been created this season. That has been missing over the last several years and it should not be taken for granted.

Tonight the Wild will look to pay back the Blues after losing the lead Saturday late and then dropping the game with 2 seconds to play in OT. It was a much better effort from the Wild who were thoroughly embarrassed Friday in the 9-1 whooping that the Blues handed them.

We will have to wait and see if Guerin does have something up his sleeve or if a good deal comes his way as the day progresses...

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
