Pretty solid card with 8 games for a Sunday! A few more afternoon games after all 4 of yesterday’s afternoon games went over the total. We got more rematches with TB/Chicago providing us some entertaining hockey in their mini 3 game series. NYI look to sweep all 3 games against Buffalo, while the Caps/Flyers and NYR/Pens renew their rivalry. Ottawa plays Calgary for the 5th time in 6 games.
Scenario #1 – Teams that are playing each other in back to back games, in which the home team loses the first game, the record of the home team in the second game is 46-28!
Scenario #2 – Teams playing back to back road games on consecutive nights tend to go under the total in the 2nd game. So far that trend is 16-18 when teams play on the road back to back nights. Buffalo/NYI fits the system tonight.
Scenario #3 - One last angle I am tracking that is slightly profitable and similar to Scenario #1, is when any team loses the first game of a back to back against the same team, regardless if it’s on the road or at home, those teams are 64-49 in that situation. Ottawa and Buffalo fit the system today.

NJ/Boston – 5pm start – NJ has won 2 of the 3 season and all 3 have gone under the total.
Florida/Carolina – 5pm start – Carolina rested as Florida played in Nashville on Saturday afternoon. Carolina has won 2 of 3 head to head this season.
Caps/Flyers – Only the 2nd meeting of the season between these two with Philly taking the first tilt.
NYR/Pens – Pens off 3 straight against in-state rival Philly. Pens have won 3 of 4 head to head this season and have a sparkling 9-2 home record.
Preds/Stars – Dallas won both head to head meeting this season so maybe they can finally get a win, they are 1-9 in their last 10. Both teams are playing inconsistent hockey.
Sens/Flames – Looking for the Sens to rebound from the beat down on Thursday night, they will be sitting there rested while the Flames and Oilers duked it out on Saturday night. 5th game in their 6 against the Flames.
