The Los Angeles Kings will look to bounce back against the St. Louis Blues tonight, following a 3-2 loss to the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday night.

Despite the loss, the Kings played a really strong game overall. They outshot the Coyotes 42-23 and had the majority of the scoring chances but Antti Raanta played very well. It’s worth noting that Jonathan Quick had to make some really good saves as well, despite facing a low number of shots. There were some bad mistakes defensively but it was a good effort and had a few bounces gone a different way, the Kings certainly could have picked up the win.

That said, I really haven’t been a fan of Mike Amadio this season. His lack of production is one thing, with no goals and two assists in 17 games, but my issue is based on his issues handling pucks. He loses some pretty easy possessions by simply missing pucks along the boards and consistently has a hard time handling passes. Olli Maatta probably had other options on the third goal but Amadio couldn’t handle a simple, short pass, which resulted in the turnover and led to a goal against.

Tonight, the Kings face the Blues, who are on a three-game win streak. The good news is the Kings have won three of four games against St. Louis this season and swept the Blues in a two-games series just a couple of weeks ago. According to LA Kings Insider’s Zach Dooley, Rasmus Kupari is expected to make his NHL debut tonight and could center a line with Adrian Kempe and Trevor Moore on the wings. Kupari had a strong start to the season with the AHL’s Ontario Reign, with nine points in eight games.
