Ten games for this Thursday night, with some big tilts in the North Division as teams have a chance to either jump into the top 4 or to separate themselves from a few teams. Flyers and Pens clash again in what is always an entertaining match up, while the surprise Blackhawks have a huge test with the Lightning in town.
Scenario #1 – Teams that are playing each other in back to back games, in which the home team loses the first game, the record of the home team in the second game is 39-24! Philly and Buffalo fit the system tonight.
Scenario #2 – Teams playing back to back road games on consecutive nights tend to go under the total in the 2nd game. So far that trend is 15-15 when teams play on the road back to back nights.
Scenario #3 - One last angle I am tracking that is slightly profitable and similar to Scenario #1, is when any team loses the first game of a back to back against the same team, regardless if it’s on the road or at home, those teams are 56-43 in that situation.

Gamenotes for tonight –
Wings/Canes – Canes off a tough stretch with 4 against TB, 2 against the Panthers on the road and then at Nashville. This could be a letdown spot, even though Detroit is so bad on the road, just when you think you have a team figured out is when things go the other way.
Flyers/Pens – All three have gone over the total and the Pens continue to dominate at home.
Jets/Habs – Habs finally snapped their 5 game losing streak against Ottawa, while the Jets have won 5 of their last 6. Jets won both head to head meetings this season.
Rangers/Devils – Devils have 6 of their last 7 and struggle at home, while the Rangers are so inconsistent game in and out. NJ has won both meetings head to head this season and both have gone over the total.
Sabres/NYI – Sabres have lost 4 in a row, 2-8 in their last 10. NYI has won all three head to head match ups this season.
TB/Hawks – TB has won 5 in a row, both teams are 7-3 in their last 10. TB has won both head to head meetings this season.
Florida/Nashville – Both teams have been very inconsistent in their last 10 games going 5-5. Teams split the first two games head to head.
Jackets/Stars – Both teams are an absolute mess! They split the first 2 games of the season head to head, with both going over total.
Sens/Flames – Ottawa is playing their best hockey of the season and won 2 of 3 against Calgary last week. The Flames meanwhile are extremely inconsistent and it’s hard to figure this team out.
Leafs/Canucks – Leafs 4 in 6 nights on the road, plus back to back nights on the road. If the Canucks are going to win against the Leafs, tonight is the night.
