The Avalanche will try for their third win in a row Monday when they take on the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center in the third game of the four-game road trip.
Here are the
GAME NOTES.
Defenseman
Cale Makar, who didn’t play Saturday in Arizona because of an upper-body injury, returned to Denver for treatment and also will miss Wednesday’s game. Coach
Jared Bednar didn’t have an update Monday morning.
Philipp Grubauer will make his 16th start in goal after making 23 saves Saturday in the Avalanche’s 6-2 win against the Coyotes.
The Avalanche will play 17 games in March, the most in any month in franchise history.
"Right now there isn't a lot of practice time,” Bednar said. “We'll touch on some things in the morning, go for our pregame skate. They have to implement things that we show them on video, but we're not getting a lot of practice time. I don't think anyone in the league is either. I think that's just the way this year's going to go with the schedule as condensed as it is.
“It’s just about getting in rest and recover, and hopefully they can go and empty the tank every game night and then get them the rest and recovery they need and go again.”
