The Philadelphia Flyers' weekend in Buffalo could hardly have gone better as the team registered back-to-back 3-0 victories over the Sabres on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. One day after Brian Elliott notched a 22-save shutout, it was Carter Hart's turn.
Hart recorded a 28-save shutout in the second game; his second career regular season NHL shutout.
After a scoreless first period, Sean Couturier (5th goal of the season) got he Flyers on the board on the opening shift of the middle stanza. Shortly thereafter, Michael Raffl (3rd) extended the lead to 2-0. A James van Riemdyk deflection (10th) built a 3-0 lead as Joel Farabee collected his second assist of the period. There was no further scoring the remainder of the game.
Jonas Johansson took the loss for Buffalo. He stopped 35 of 38 shots.
All scoring was done at 5-on-5. The Flyers went 3-for-3 on the penalty kill, and 0-for-2 on the power play.
Phil Myers re-entered the Flyers' lineup on Sunday, one day after being a healthy scratch. The Sabres got Jack Eichel back after he missed the two previous games including Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Flyers. Buffalo played a better game in this one than on Saturday, especially early in the first period and portions of the third, but the Flyers built a commanding lead and did not relinquish it.

After Sunday's NHL games in the East Division were completed, the Flyers sit in third place in the Division in terms of points (25 in 18 games played) but first in points percentage (.695).
The Flyers have an off-day on Monday. On Tuesday, they will embark upon a first in franchise history -- three straight regular season road games in the same city against the same team. The Pittsburgh Penguins (23 points in 20 games played, .595 points percentage) will be the opponent.
