Biggest card of the season with 14 games today, 4 of which in the afternoon! We will all get our hockey fill today. We got 4 rematches lined up and some huge divisional games. Highlighting the schedule are games with Leafs/Oilers, Pens/Isles, Canes/Panthers and Habs/Jets.
Scenario #1 – Teams that are playing each other in back to back games, in which the home team loses the first game, the record of the home team in the second game is 35-19! Arizona fits the system tonight.
Scenario #2 – Teams playing back to back road games on consecutive nights tend to go under the total in the 2nd game. So far that trend is 14-13 when teams play on the road back to back nights. LA/Minny and Avs/Yotes fit the system tonight.
Scenario #3 - One last angle I am tracking that is slightly profitable and similar to Scenario #1, is when any team loses the first game of a back to back against the same team, regardless if it’s on the road or at home, those teams are 49-33 in that situation. Arizona, Calgary and Montreal fit the system tonight.

Gamenotes for today/tonight –
Caps/Devils – 1pm – Caps won the first meeting. Both teams very inconsistent their last 10 games, hard to lean either way.
Flames/Sens – 1pm – 2nd game of 4 straight, 5 of next 6 against each other. Look for Calgary to rebound from a poor outing Thursday night. Sens first 3 game win streak of the season.
Flyers/Sabres 1pm – They split the first 2 of the season. Flyers not as strong on the road but Buffalo reeling 3-7 in their last 10.
Jackets/Preds – 3pm – Preds won 3 of 4 head to head this season, both teams playing inconsistent hockey, identical records of 4-6 in their last 10 games.
Pitt/NYI – Pens have won 3 of 4 games head to head this season, both teams playing some solid hockey, should be a great game.
Carolina/Florida – Panthers won first game of the season. Canes off 4 straight against TB in which they lost the last 3.
Dallas/TB – TB playing great hockey and off huge wins over Carolina. Dallas going the reverse and playing sub par hockey. First meeting of the season between these two.
Leafs/Oilers – Both teams are red hot and you got a lot of superstar talent on the ice for this one, understatement! They split the first 4 head to head games of the season. Leafs 6-1 on the road!
Wings/Hawks – Hawks 8-2 in their last 10! Wings have rotated a win then a loss in their last 5 series, all of which were 2 games. Something to watch for.
LA/Minny – Both teams red hot, playing back to back nights. Under is the play here.
Habs/Jets – Can the Habs break their 4 game losing streak? Montreal has been a very strong road team this year. Winnipeg playing some very good hockey of late.
STL/SJ – Blues terrific on the road, while Sharks are playing only their 4th home game of the year. They split the first 4 head to head this season.
Vegas/Anaheim – Ducks have lost 5 in a row, while Vegas has had 5 days off. Vegas has won 3 of 4 head to head this season.
