Time for the rematch as the Nashville Predators look to erase the taste of a Friday night, 7-Zip shellacking at the hands of the Dallas Stars. It’s the kind of a loss that is a little easier to put in the rear-view mirror as the team just had off-ice meetings and workouts yesterday with no on ice presence.
Dallas exploded for seven goals, five of them on the power play, braking a scoreless streak against Nashville that stretched over seven periods of play… dating back to March right before the season paused. So, what needs to happen tonight?
Special teams… 0-5 on the power play and 3-8 on the PK is always a recipe for disaster… and that is what the Preds did Friday night… ugh. The special teams concerns with this team go back quite a ways, back to the 2018 playoffs… it has been a struggle for this team to find a system that consistently produces results, and this season is starting off the same way.
The one positive to build off from Friday’s game? Five-on-five play. When the Preds were at even strength, they owned long stretches on play… unfortunately, those even strength times were not a large part of the game.
It’s a 7pm faceoff in Dallas, coverage on 102.5 the Game and Fox Sports Tennessee. Willy Daunic and Terry Crisp have the call on TV, The Voice of the Predators, Pete Weber and Jay More will be describing the action on the Predators Radio Network.
