Last night 1-1 -.20 Units
YTD 13-11 +1.82 Units

As they say, there is a reason they play the games, even though many times you think you have a good handle on a team. Last night proved that ten fold! The Caps minus 4 star players grinded out a 4-3 shootout win over Buffalo.
Then the Dallas Stars playing their first game of the season against a Preds team that already had four games under their belt, blow open the game in the 2nd period with five unanswered goals enroute to a 7-0 beatdown of Nashville. Now if I am a Preds player, you should be ashamed of your effort, let alone what a horrible no show they were against a team they had no business losing too.
Hawks got their first win of the season. While Minnesota is off to a nice quiet start with a 4-1 record.
**Home teams went 7-1 last night!**

Three new angles that I have been tracking that might be something to look at both short and long term are as follows.

Scenario #1 – Teams that are playing each other in back to back games, in which the home team loses the first game, the record of the home team in the second game is 9-3! We have one team that fits the system today, 2pm start as Columbus looks to rebound at home with a win after losing to TB the other night.

Scenario #2 – Teams playing back to back road games on consecutive nights tend to go under the total in the 2nd game. So far that trend is 4-2 when teams play on the road back to back nights after Montreal went over the total last night. No teams fit this system tonight.

Scenario #3 - One last angle I am tracking that is slightly profitable and similar to Scenario #1, is when any team loses the first game of a back to back against the same team, regardless if it’s on the road or at home, those teams are 10-6 in that situation. Today we have two teams that fit the system, Columbus and Philadelphia.

As for 1st period totals going over, it has taken a huge hit the last few nights. Last night it went 2-6, 27-41 on the season. While road teams were 1-7, 26-42 on the season. The homeside is the way to go lately!
Game totals going over the total went 4-3-1 last night, 39-27-2, which is still a very profitable angle.

Gamenotes for tonight(very small schedule for a Saturday) –

Flyers/Bruins – Bruins turned it on in the 3rd period the other night to get the shootout win. Lets see if the Flyers can attack with the lead, rather than playing not to lose in the third period the way they did on Thursday night.

MTL/Vancouver – Canucks are so banged up on the blueline. Lets see if Tyler Myers is suspended for his late game hit. If so, it will deplete an already banged up Canucks defense.

Kings/Blues – These two play back to back nights, lets see how the first one goes. Lean to STL.

Sens/Jets – Sens first road game of the year while the Jets have won the first two against Ottawa. Can the Jets make it three in a row against the Sens? Expect some line-up changes for Ottawa, plus Marcus Hogberg in goal in place of Matt Murray.

Tonight’s plays –
Flyers – ML(+120)2 Units – Great dog play here. Flyers deserved far better last game out against the Bruins. Plus this is a system play, following scenario #3.

Sens – ML(+117)1 Unit – This is strictly a hunch play. The Sens have lost the first two games to the Jets, this will be their 3rd game in a row head to head. Hogberg will most likely get the start in goal for Ottawa.

Feel free to ask any questions in the blog and I always get back to everyone. I will have Twitter and Instagram going shortly. Good luck tonight!
