Yesterday we were hit with the news that Sid Hartman, the legendary journalist who was Minnesota sports, living and breathing everything Minnesota sports all the way up the day he died.

He was relentless in getting the scoop and never stopping until he got the story direct from the source.

He captured every sport and player he reported on, and he covered them all. He did his job like no one else and in a way that allowed the very stars that he covered to become his closest friends.

A void has been left in the Minnesota sports scene today that will never be filled. It is a different time for certain, but today it takes far more than one person to do what Sid Hartman did for his entire career.

At age 100 Sid still doing his thing and doing like no other had done in the past nor will ever do again.

RIP Sid
