According to sources, the NJ Devils are very interested in bringing back Ilya Kovalchuk and this effort is being led by Mark Recchi who was part of the effort to try and bring Kovy to Pittsburgh prior. I am told Kovalchuk is very open to the idea and really enjoyed his time with the Devils.
Of course the Montreal Canadiens told Kovalchuk when he was dealt to the Caps at the deadline, that they too would love to bring him back. And I am told that the Canadiens are still very much about bringing him in.
