This article will be the last in my series of player profiles, where I look at each player on the Anaheim Ducks and assess how their season went. This piece will focus on Troy Terry.

Terry spent the majority of his season in the NHL, scoring four goals and 15 points in 47 games, a pace of seven goals and 26 points per 82 games. However, he also spent some time in the AHL between January and March, where he produced at an excellent rate, scoring seven goals and 16 points in just 14 games.

With the Ducks, his underlying numbers were strong as well. His expected goals for percentage was 51.1 per cent (according to NaturalStatTrick.com), which was higher than any other player who finished the year with the Ducks (minimum 15 games played). His corsi for percentage may have been just 49.2 per cent but it was higher than the team’s overall corsi for percentage this season as well.

I’ve said before that I think Terry could have a breakout year next season. Something I’ve noted in previous articles was how low his shooting percentage was, as well as how low the team’s shooting percentage was while he was on the ice. If you were to bring both his shooting percentage and the team’s shooting percentage while he was on the ice up to a regular level (we’ll say 9.5 per cent), he would’ve had seven goals instead of four, as well as likely a few more assists. Essentially, we can expect an increase in production from Terry going forward, as long as he's able to start converting on his chances.

Next season will be Terry’s first of his three-year contract and I’d expect him to take a permanent spot on the wing in Anaheim’s top-nine. In a poll I did a couple months back, only 33 per cent of readers voted that they thought Terry would hit at least 40 points next season, but I'd say I’m more optimistic. He’s going to get a great opportunity to move up the lineup if he performs well and there’s certainly a lot to like about Terry’s potential.

Here’s today’s poll question (results and discussion will be posted in a future article):

Where do you see Troy Terry fitting into Anaheim's lineup long-term?
Top-six forward
Middle-six forward
Bottom-six forward
