Every article, I try to include a poll question for readers to vote on, then review the results from the week’s polls in a future article. It’s been a while since the last review, so in this article, I’ll review the results that are still relevant right now. Here are the poll results and my thoughts on how they turned out.

QUESTION: Did you view this as a successful season for the Hurricanes?

(Votes: 86)

Yes: 58%
No: 42%

The Hurricanes ran up against a pretty good team and if they had a different matchup in the first round, they may have been able to make a deeper run. I think they took steps this year and while they may not be a legitimate contender just yet, they’ll certainly be a playoff team in the years to come.

QUESTION: How big of a role did injuries play in the Hurricanes losing to the Bruins?

(Votes: 185)

Somewhat of a factor: 53%
Huge factor: 32%
Not a factor: 15%

I think injuries were certainly an issue for the Hurricanes. Not only was Brett Pesce out, but then Joel Edmundson and Andrei Svechnikov went down, which left two more sizable holes in the lineup, that proved to be an issue for Carolina.

QUESTION: Do you want the Hurricanes to make an attempt to trade for Frederik Andersen?

(Votes: 401)

Yes: 74%
No: 26%

Like I said in the article, I think getting Andersen would be a win for sure but I do think the Hurricanes should be looking at all options, in what will be a deep goalie market this offseason. If Carolina is going to go after a starter, they need to make sure whoever they get will be around long-term.
