23 Points in 13 Playoff Games. That is what Mackinnon has done. It is an amazing Stat.

Last year Brad Marchand led all playoff scorers. He played 24 games. Eleven more games than MacKinnon. He was tops in playoff scoring for 2019. He scored 23 points. The same number as MacKinnon scored and MacKinnon could play two more rounds of hockey.

Granted, last year scoring was WAY down. In 2018 Kuznetsov had 32 points. In 2017 Malkin led with 28 points. In 2017 Couture had 30 points. Patrick Kane had 23 points in 2015.

So on average, you can win the scoring title with around 27 points. MacKinnon is 4 away. Of course, he may be eliminated next game.

In case you're curious...the record for points in an NHL playoff season? 47. Wayne Gretzky did that in just 18 games in 84-85. Yes. He was pretty good.
