The candidacy of longtime rumored front-runner Las Vegas has been hindered by the recent uptick in Covid-19 cases. Cases in Canada are significantly lower, and more stable, than in the United States.
McKenzie also reports that there has been significant progress toward an agreement on a new CBA between the NHL and the NHL Players Association, including NHL participation in the 2022 and 2026 Olympics (pending an agreement with the IOC), a flat salary cap for several seasons, and a cap on escrow.
