Every article, I try to include a poll question for readers to vote on, then review the results from the week’s polls every weekend. I’m a day late, but here are last week’s poll results and my thoughts on how they turned out.

QUESTION: What's your long-term projection for Max Comtois?

(Votes: 120)

Middle-six forward: 46%
Top-six forward: 43%
Bottom-six forward: 12%

Like I’ve said before, Comtois is pretty much a lock to be at least a strong third-line forward. It’s a matter of how high he can jump in the lineup after that and I’m torn between top-six forward and middle-six forward. It certainly makes sense to see the vote so close here.

QUESTION: Do you hope the Ducks re-sign Michael Del Zotto?

(Votes: 103)

No: 40%
Yes: 34%
Don’t feel strongly either way: 26%

I’m surprised to see the vote so split here, though I do get it. Del Zotto is a cheap depth option for the Ducks who worked out fairly well this season. To me, however, it’s time that Anaheim works younger defensemen into their lineup, rather than giving a role to the likes of Del Zotto, who’s already 30 years old and isn't going to be with the team in a long-term role.

QUESTION: This year, Nicolas Deslauriers:

(Votes: 54)

Met expectations: 44%
Exceeded expectations: 43%
Didn’t meet expectations: 17%

Deslauriers was a better fit than expected but I wouldn’t say he exceeded expectations. Like 44 per cent of readers voted, I’d say he met expectations in his first year with the Ducks.

QUESTION: How do you feel about Cam Fowler's performance this season?

(Votes: 32)

Happy with it: 63%
Don’t feel strongly either way: 22%
Not happy with it: 16%

I certainly think Fowler had a strong season, so it’s not surprising to see most readers were happy with how he performed this year. He added offense and performed well, even if it was in a slightly sheltered role.

QUESTION: Of the players listed, who would you like the Ducks to select with the sixth-overall pick?

(Votes: 210)

Jamie Drysdale: 36%
Marco Rossi: 30%
Lucas Raymond: 13%
Cole Perfetti: 11%
Alexander Holtz: 5%
Jack Quinn: 3%
Jake Sanderson: 2%

Like 66 per cent of readers voted, I’d love to see the Ducks manage to get Drysdale or Rossi if either is still available when they’re picking. To me, both players have massive upside and are pretty safe bets to be impact players in the NHL. Plus, either would address an area of weakness for Anaheim.
