Hello Hockey World.

Yesterday was my daughter's high school graduation and despite no ceremony it was quite the emotional roller coaster ride for this dad who can be a mess when it comes to emotional moments with our kids. It turned out to be a much better day than anticipated. There was a parade of the seniors in cars throughout all the neighborhoods that saw people in the community all standing with their families cheering from their lawns as the seniors passed by. My sincere congratulations to ALL the seniors out there graduating in this year of the plague!

In my next post I will be focusing on the Rangers and Carolina series, followed by the Red Wings offseason....(which we will also be discussing on today's Buzzcast with Kevin Allen)

First, we have some news!

The NHL announced its decision to not go with brackets and to go with best-of-seven series in the playoffs. Both decisions were exactly what the players wanted, which shows the NHL isn't willing to fight for these issues and rather is just very thankful that the players are doing this 24 teams isolation..

Also, the NHL is probably not opening camps until August 1, although I hear it will be a short two week camp with play beginning around August 15th. The interesting part of the decision to open camps later is that the decision is not really being driven by fears, but rather hope...

I am hearing VERY strongly, although there are still so many variables, that unless there is a major outbreak of the virus, the NHL is extremely hopeful to be able to hold the Conference Finals and the Cup Final as they have in the past: In the team's cities with fans... even if that means the fans sitting socially distanced.

per a source. "It is not that EVERYONE has to be distanced. We won't be seeing single peope sitting alone... one person sitting alone...families would be allowed to sit together...so that would mean at least 2 people together or more if a family has four seats etc... So we could get maybe 8,000 in a 20,000 seat space, etc.. but that will feel like alot after playing the first two rounds to an empty building..."

All of this is of course is theoretical as we still saw over 1,000 deaths yesterday as a result of the virus and there is no question that people are far worse at social distancing in the summer. The next month could see really tough times.

But a little hope isn't a terrible thing.

Worst Calls ever?

This is VERY un-fair to referees everywhere...(sorry Stewy) , but today is a rather infamous anniversary. Twenty-one years ago today Brett Hull scored a goal that shall be forever known as "NO GOAL." It is forever part of the folklore of this sport and in Buffalo....this is a very dark day.

So I ask you.....

What are some of the worst calls you can remember in NHL History?
