Quick Hits: March 30, 2020

1) On Monday, Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher will be making the rounds with local media to discuss a variety of topics surrounding the team during the NHL schedule pause amid the global coronavirus pandemic. Among other topics, he will update the status of injured players, the recent entry-level contract signings of Wade Allison, Tanner Laczynski and Wyatte Wylie, discuss managing through the uncertainty of when hockey will return and what form the rest of the regular season and playoffs would take, and more.

Fletcher will speak first to the Flyers beat writers via conference call. He will then speak one-on-one with me for an article that will run on the team's official website later today. Finally, he will speak with Jason Myrtetus for a one-on-one interview that will air on Tuesday for Flyers Daily on the Flyers Broadcast Network.

2) I am Jason's guest on Monday's edition of Flyers Daily. The main topic of conversation is the development trajectory of Travis Sanheim over his three pro seasons (four pro campaigns overall). The play of Sanheim and Phil Myers, both individually and in tandem as the Flyers' seond pairing, has been one of the most encouraging aspects of the team's surge as the campaign has progressed. Listen on demand here.

Sanheim, who celebrated his 24th birthday on Sunday, will also be the subject of tomorrow's player profile on the Flyers website. Later this week, we'll profile Carter Hart (Thursday) and Matt Niskanen (Saturday).

3) Today in Flyers History: On March 30, 1968, the Flyers clinched the Western Division championship. With the Spectrum undergoing repairs for a damaged roof, the Flyers were playing most of their home games at Le Colisee in Quebec City. The team was at its hotel when a game between the second-place LA Kings and the Oakland Seals went final (a 2-2 tie) and mathematically clinched the division championship for Philadelphia. Ed Snider convened a party for the team at the hotel. For more, click here.

4) March 30 Flyers Alumni birthday: Dennis Ververgaert (1950).
