While Covid-19 has shutdown most of the sports across the globe in Russia vodka supplies seem to be working just fine as KHL is going strong.

KHL has finished the 1st round of the Gagarin Cup Playoffs and we now know the 2nd round match-ups.

2nd round match-up CSKA Moscow - Dynamo Moscow

CSKA Moscow advanced to the 2nd round in a very convincing manner with a 4:0 sweep against Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod.

Dynamo Moscow had to fight against Spartak Moscow but six games were enough to send them into the 2nd round.

2nd round match-up SKA St.Petersburg - Jokerit Helsinki

SKA used the help of former Vitjaz players that they acquired in very one-sided trades to sweep the Podolsk squad to move on to the next round.

Jokerit Helsinki demonstrated that they have depth having 11 different players to grant them a ticket to the 2nd round beating Lokomotiv Yaroslavl squad.

2nd round match-up AkBars Kazan - Salavat Julaev UFA (Green derby)

AkBars with a quick sweep against Neftehimik Nizhnekamsk team that had nothing to show in the 1st round.

Six games were enough for Salavat Julaev and their leaders Linus Omark and Teemu Hartikainen to send Bob Hartley and his Avangard Omsk team packing.

2nd rounch match-up Barys Astana - Sibir Novosibirsk

Barys had a surprisingly short battle with former champions Metallurg Magnitogorsk taking the victory in just 5 games.

Sibir Novosibirsk were surprising convincing sending home one of the best teams in East - Pavel Datsyuk's and Avtomobilist Jekaterinburg's season is now over.
