On Toronto vs. Florida....
Games don't get much more important than this.
Toronto, without most of their defense, is coming off their huge upset win in Tampa. These Leafs have been all over the map lately and have had huge issues stringing two strong games together. Florida is coming off a win as well and is sitting only 2 points behind Toronto with a game in hand.
In the projected standings tonight the Buzz-O-Matic has predicted to be VERY tight with an OT win for the Panthers.
The biggest factors for tonight being the injuries to the Leafs, the game being in Florida, and the fact that over the last three years the Panthers have averaged 1.2 points out of a possible two points versus the Leafs. Meanwhile, the Leafs have averaged a 1.1 points out of a 2 points per game versus Florida.
On Calgary vs. Nashville...
These two teams are currently holding down the two wildcard spots.
Calgary sits with 72 points in 64 Games while Nashville has 70 points in 62 games...The Buzz-O-Matic Projects this game to be a regulation win for the Flames. The Flames project out to Second Place in the Pacific Division with 97 points. The Preds project out to 103 points and the first Wildcard Spot.
Much has been made of the Preds getting to 103 points meaning they will have to go 15-2-3 the rest of the way, and I admit that feels highly unlikely. The matchups and timing of the Preds games, combined with the way they have played recently all are part of why our computer is currently simulating this. The only 2 straight up losses for the Preds the rest of the way that is currently predicted are tonight vs. Calgary and March 12th in Toronto.

*Vegas stayed hot and Fleury was just fantastic (with a lot of help from 3 goal posts) The loss for Edmonton was VERY big towards their playoff hopes. The way the projected standings works out is Edmonton this loss put them in a serious battle with Vancouver.
*Penguins continue to slide. This time of year, teams with nothing to play for, like the LA Kings, are so dangerous.
*Buffalo played really well against one the league's top teams but fell short to Colorado. They have clawed somewhat back into the playoff hunt, so they need to play almost perfect hockey.
