No blockbusters for the Avalanche on Monday, NHL trade deadline day, which is OK by me assuming all the injured players will return before the season ends.

General manager Joe Sakic will be available at practice Tuesday to discuss the trades.

They acquired forward Vladislav Namestnikov from Ottawa for a fourth-round draft pick in the 2021 NHL draft, and goalie Michael Hutchinson from Toronto for Colorado Eagles defenseman Calle Rosen.

Namestnikov and Hutchinson will be eligible for unrestricted free agency July 1.

The 6-foot, 183-pound Namestnikov, 27, has 25 points (13 goals, 12 assists) in 56 games – four shorthanded goals -- and adds more forward depth with Mikko Rantanen, Nazem Kadri, Matt Calvert and Colin Wilson recovering from injuries.

The 6-3, 198-pound Hutchinson, 29, is a depth goalie the Avalanche can use as Pavel Francouz’s backup while Philipp Grubauer recovers from his lower-body injury. Hunter Miska has been reassigned to the AHL Eagles.

Francouz was named the NHL's No. 1 star of the week.

Namestnikov played two games with the New York Rangers this season before the Senators acquired him for AHL defenseman Nick Ebert and a fourth-round pick in 2021.

He was Tampa Bay’s first-round pick (No. 27) in 2011 and had 44 points (20 goals, 24 assists) in 62 games in 2017-18 before he was traded to the Rangers with a first-round pick and two prospects for defenseman Ryan McDonagh and forward J.T. Miller. He had two goals and two assists in 19 games for New York that season.

Namestnikov has 183 points (79 goals, 104 assists) in 416 career games with four points (one goal, three assists) in 29 playoff games.

Hutchinson went 4-9-1 with a 3.66 goals-against average and .886 save percentage -- certainly not impressive – with the Maple Leafs. He went 3-1-0 with a 1.98 goals-against average and .943 save percentage with the AHL Toronto Marlies.

Hutchinson had his best season in 2014-15 with Winnipeg when he went 21-10-5 with a 2.39 goals-against average and .914 save percentage.

Hutchinson has a 50-52-14 career NHL record with a 2.81 goals-against average and .905 save percentage in 126 games with Toronto, Florida and Winnipeg.

Rosen, 26, was acquired from the Maple Leafs last summer with Kadri in the Tyson Barrie/Alexander Kerfoot trade. He had 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in 35 games with the Eagles, two assists in eight games with the Avalanche.
