KHL has a new president and he already has big goals.
Alexei Morozov has been named the new president of the KHL where he will replace Dmitri Cherynshenko who's moving into a Russian government position and will no longer will be able to run the league.
''First of all I want to thank Cherynshenko'' Moroz said. ''He has done big things for the KHL, the league is now the best in Europe, it has great level of hockey and a good attendance.''
''It's never easy with NHL, they don't want to go the Olympics, they can't agree with IOC and IIHF. I will be traveling to North America to meet with NHL's leadership. We will talk Olympics and a possibility of hosting games between NHL and KHL.'' he said in a statement.
He's been elected on a four-year term but as hockeybuzz has learned - eventually he might be replaced by Rene Fasel who is currently the president of IIHF. Fasel's term ends this fall.
