And the Solution Is...

Something had to give, after 8 losses in a row the Habs brass had to do something and they did, it was announced today that Keith Kinkaid was put on waivers by the Canadiens. Now, let's face it, Kinkaid had not been good, but it can hardly be said that the current situation is his fault. According to Pierre Lebrun though, the Canadiens do not think they will lose him on waivers and are hoping that he can play in Laval for a while:

In the meantime though, who will be called back up? Lindgren? Primeau? Both goalies have played 12 games for Joel Bouchard's side so far this season and the rookie has been the better of the two:

Primeau is only 20 years old though and one has to wonder if bringing him aboard while this Habs team is in such a state is a good idea. A Young goalie needs to develop and build his own confidence. He most certainly doesn't need to be thrown into the deep end and battle an incredible number of odd man rushes. As for Lindgren well, when he burst unto the scene in 2015-2016 he looked like he might actually be the goalie of the future. He played one game, gave up 2 goals and had a .929 save percentage. The following season, he got two games in which he had a 1.48 GAA and a .949 save percentage. Since then though, his numbers have not been going the right way. In the last two seasons in Laval he finished with .886 and .884 save percentage and he's not been looking good.

So, for me, if someone has to be recalled, I'd go for Lindgren... He's now 25 years old and he doesn't look like the goaltender of the future anymore for the Canadiens. They have nothing to lose by throwing him to the wolves. If he performs, great... If he doesn't, who cares since not much is expected of him anymore.

We'll see tomorrow at noon if a team feels like gambling on Kinkaid. I highly doubt that anyone will but who knows...That being said, I don't think Montreal would have made that move if they thought that they could potentially lose him... Claude Julien announced that a back-up will be recalled from Laval but he stopped short of saying who it will be. That will be announced around 5 PM.

Edit:Cayden Primeau and Peca have been called up
