For the third time in their last six games, the New York Islanders will face the Pittsburgh Penguins. Here’s the pre-game report.
According to NHL.com’s Brian Compton, the projected lineups are:
NEW YORK
Anders Lee - Mathew Barzal - Jordan Eberle
Anthony Beauvillier -- Brock Nelson - Derick Brassard
Josh Bailey - Otto Koivula - Michael Dal Colle
Matt Martin - Casey Cizikas - Cal Clutterbuck
Adam Pelech - Ryan Pulock
Devon Toews - Scott Mayfield
Nick Leddy - Johnny Boychuk
Thomas Greiss
Semyon Varlamov
PITTSBURGH
Jake Guentzel - Evgeni Malkin - Bryan Rust
Dominik Kahun - Jared McCann - Brandon Tanev
Alex Galchenyuk - Joseph Blandisi - Patric Hornqvist
No fourth line listed
Brian Dumoulin - John Marino
Marcus Pettersson - Chad Ruhwedel
Jack Johnson - Juuso Riikola
Matt Murray
Tristan Jarry
Matt Martin will return to the lineup tonight, reuniting the fourth line with Casey Cizikas and Cal Clutterbuck. Can’t say I agree with the decision to put them back together and I don’t know that Josh Bailey, Otto Koivula and Michael Dal Colle is going to work very well. But you certainly can’t argue with a 15-game point streak, so what do I know? Leo Komarov and Noah Dobson are the two key scratches here and I’d like to think Komarov and Martin are battling for the last forward spot. Thomas Greiss and Matt Murray are expected to start in net.
It should be a good one tonight. The last two games have gone to overtime and there’s no reason to believe this one won’t be equally as exciting.
Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
