That was a Win-able Game

Foligno is handed a 3-game suspension for his hit in COL. Robinson gets the call up, Murray gets activated and Nash draws back into the line up. Elvis is back in the building.

These were the headlines leading into the final game of the three-game roadie. A win in MTL would result in a winning trip and 4 of 6 points.

Instead two separate 3rd period leads were equalized by the Canadians and the game was lost in the first shootout of the season. Cam, Gus and Bjork were all bested by Price while Drouin lit the lamp for MTL. Three points were gained on the road trip rather than four.

Elvis was strong most of the game until he was beaten on a long one-on-two shot Gallagher took as he entered the zone. A cross-ice pass with Price pulled in which Elvis was tardy getting from post-to-post tied the game at 2 with less than a minute remaining.

Once again the CBJ had control and a lead most of the game. Not extending their advantage AGAIN has led to a one-point rather than a two-point result. Two goals will almost never collect wins in the NHL. Finding the back of the continues to be their downfall.

Elvis will have to continue to wait for his first NHL W despite a performance worthy of it.

The Jackets start a 3-game-home-stand on Friday with the Blues coming to town followed by two home tilts next week with against MTL and DET.

Note: In his return Murray blocked a shot with the inside of his knee. He labored to get off the ice, even having to have play stopped. However, he did return to the game, but will this land him on the IR for a second time in this young season? Hopefully not.

Good Luck and Go Jackets.
