I hope Q invested in one of those MIB mind eraser gadgets to wipe the memory of the players and fans from Monday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks...

It could be that they were tired from the day before in Edmonton, or the tough travel schedule against solid teams, but the Cats looked like they were in slow motion against the Canucks.

In fact, I was really impressed with the speed of Vancouver. Not only that, but when the Panthers entered their zone, the Canucks seemed to attack the puck carrier with multiple guys. It was like in football when you see that “gang tackling” technique. Anytime a Florida player had the puck, there seemed like there was two to three guys immediately on him. I was very impressed by that.

Speaking of impressed...

The Cats could take a pointer from VAN’s defense. Those guys on the backend are no joke. There’s no hesitation and they move the puck quickly. They don’t play around with it or look for a perfect pass. They send it where it makes sense and they move with a purpose. The puck never stays in their zone for too long.

What would be the point of going into all the negatives from Florida’s effort? What can you really say in a 7-2 loss? The bottom line is that the Panthers came out unprepared and sluggish against a good team and had it handed to them.

The best thing they can do now is have amnesia- forget about that game and move on, because they have yet another big challenge waiting for them tonight...the Avalanche.

Colorado is ridiculous at 8-2-1. The Cats went the distance with them in their last meeting, but fell short in OT.

Bob gets the nod and they need him to be the guy they gave the big contract to. Spotty defense aside, Bob has had his struggles this young season. It’s something some of us had concerns about with him, but something that he’ll hopefully overcome soon - as he sometimes has slow starts.

Again, the Cats handled themselves well against these guys the last time they met, so let’s hope they can do it again, but with a better finish. It would be a great way to bounce back after a beat down earlier in the week.

The Avs have some key guys out due to injury: Mikko Rantanen and captain Gabriel Landeskog. Even with these guys out, they’re still very dangerous and are building a case to be the big dogs out of the West.

Trocheck Update

I haven’t seen anything regarding Trocheck suiting up tonight or not. I’ve been keeping an eye on Jameson’s Olvie’s Twitter, but no news yet...

Regardless...let’s get back on track!

Go Panthers!
