The New York Islanders look to pull themselves to .500 today, as they host the defending Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis.
Here are the lineups,
according to NHL.com’s Brian Compton:
ST. LOUIS BLUES
Jaden Schwartz - Brayden Schenn - Vladimir Tarasenko
Sammy Blais - Ryan O'Reilly - David Perron
Robby Fabbri - Tyler Bozak - Zach Sanford
Ivan Barbashev - Oskar Sundqvist - Alexander Steen
Carl Gunnarsson - Alex Pietrangelo
Jay Bouwmeester - Colton Parayko
Vince Dunn - Justin Faulk
Jordan Binnington
Jake Allen
NEW YORK ISLANDERS
Anders Lee - Mathew Barzal - Anthony Beauvillier
Josh Bailey - Brock Nelson - Tom Kuhnhackl
Ross Johnston - Derick Brassard - Michael Dal Colle
Matt Martin - Leo Komarov - Cal Clutterbuck
Adam Pelech - Ryan Pulock
Devon Toews - Scott Mayfield
Nick Leddy - Noah Dobson
Semyon Varlamov
Thomas Greiss
Jordan Binnington starts in goal for the Blues, while Robert Thomas is expected to remain out with an injury. Semyon Varlamov is listed as the expected starter for the Islanders, ending the rotation that we’ve seen thus far from Barry Trotz.
There’s an important injury note as well, as it looks like Jordan Eberle will be out with an injury that he suffered during New York’s last game against Florida. As a result, Ross Johnston will draw into the lineup, though Oliver Wahlstrom has been called up.
As to why Wahlstrom wouldn’t slot in before Johnston is beyond me. Casey Cizikas is also expected to remain out, while Nick Leddy is paired with Noah Dobson and Johnny Boychuk is scratched.
Puck drop is at 1 p.m.
